Glenavon grind it out

Glenavon 1 -0 Cliftonville

Glenavon manager Stephen McBride commented after the game, “We showed character, bottle and attitude today and sometimes you don’t get it all your own way and you have to grind it out and we did that today. This time last year we would never have won that game and that’s the improvement. Hopefully the supporters walk away and can see that the players are digging in, showing detemination and I couldn’t ask anymore from the lads.” See Glenavon FC News for full report.

The Business Network - Banbridge celebrated it's first birthday at the September meeting. Fresher Week

This is the time of year when parents with children of a certain age are scurrying around collecting all the bits and pieces that they will need to see them through their first term at university. Pictured above is one of mine on his way to the University of Leeds. It is one of a series of shots taken as we walked through ordinary streets on the journey. Why not book one of my portrait sessions before your children take up their accommodation in Halls or perhaps when they are home for Christmas. The photoshoot can take place in the ordinary streets and places around your home, or in my Lurgan Studio.

Family Portrait

I had great fun doing a family photoshoot in my Lurgan Studio with the Jess family. A family portrait session takes about one hour and the Silver Session costs just £115. From the images produced, the family may choose two complimentary mounted 10x8" prints and a FRAMED 12x8" print. Additional items may be purchased including a Family Portrait Book (containing selected images), multi image framed prints, and a Slide Show on CD/DVD of all images. Family Portrait tokens - which make GREAT CHRISTMAS PRESENTS - are available from me at drewmcwilliams.com or by emailing photos@drewmcwilliams.com.

Glenavon win at last!

Ballymena United 0- Glenavon 3 Glenavon beat Ballymena United in the 'basement battle' at the foot of the JJB Irish Premier League.
Huge relief and delight for Glenavon manager Stephen McBride. His counterpart, Roy Walker, has a lot of work to do.

Glenavon's Adrian Harper typified Glenavon's determination and effort.

Deane and Debbie

Deane and Debbie were married in St Matthias Parish Church, Knocknamuckley. The reception was held in the Seagoe Hotel, Portadown but before that Deane and Debbie, both dyed in the blue wool of Glenavon, requested a photoshoot at Mourneview Park. I can categorically state that Deane scored!

A happy and memorable day was had by all, completed by Jim Cordner's Disco and Entertainment.

Banbridge Band Parade

It was the 27th annual parade of Downshire Guiding Star Flute Band in Banbridge tonight.

Zip Line Challenge

One of my regular employers, THE OUTLET in Banbridge had booked me to cover a charity event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. No problem I thought - I often photograph public events at the shopping centre. However, as I found out when I reported in to discuss the photo brief, this was not to be just another 'run-of-the-mill' photo assignment. Macmillan Cancer Support is THE OUTLET's main charity this year and many of the staff were taking part in a Zipline Challenge. Despite my dislike of heights, I was asked to accompany staff members in the cradle to record the event!
All went well and the public responded well to the challenge with many thousands of pounds being raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. Below is a shot of Lisnamulligan Pipe Band entertaining shoppers outside Costa and Starbucks at THE OUTLET.

Glenavon 2-1 Bray Wanderers (Friendly)

A goal in each half from Tony Grant earned Glenavon a 2-1 win over Eircom League side Bray Wanderers in today’s friendly at Mourneview Park. It was a very good work out for both sides and it gave an opportunity for Glenavon’s recent signings Brian Mallon and Davy Larmour to get some game time. Mallon replaced McCann for the second half with Paul Carvill moving to left wing and Larmour had a good half hour when he came on for Liggett.
