Almost alone with David Williams

I was one of just 10 lucky photographers who spent 4 days recently with well known Australian photographer, David Williams in Killarney, Co Kerry. David is committed to the art of great picture making and emphasises in a deeply personal way that pictures tell a story. During his 'Almost Alone' workshops (being hosted in the United States, Ireland and the United Kingdom) David offers years worth of knowledge about using light, vision - and the hardest thing to teach - using your heart and soul to provide meaningful and beautiful prints, albums, and portraits. David really impressed me when I heard him talk at the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers 2008 Convention in London and I knew that I just couldn't miss the opportunity to discuss my work and learn from this Master of Photography.

November Fair

Dromore in Action held a November Fair in the Market Square of the Co Down town. Lots of stalls and action for all members of the family, with Dromore Cardiac Machine Fund, the Autumn Leaves social club, Dromore Surgery Equipment Fund Committee, Action Cancer, the Rare Breeds Society and Dromore Elim Church among the charities to benefit by having stalls at the event. All the images from the event may be viewed at drewmcwilliams.com.

Dromore Autumn Leaves launch Diary

Dromore Autumn Leaves launched it's 2009 Diary during a special function at the town's Bowling Pavilion. The diary, featuring men from the club, follows on from the club's very successful 'Calendar Girls' calendar last year. I was the photographer for both projects. Dromore landmarks include Dromore Cathedral, St Colman's church, the Old Cross, the Old Station, Downshire Bridge, the Town Hall, War Memorial, the Mound, Pinnacle, Viaduct, the Castle of Dromore and the town's Stocks. The diary may be purchased from the Wellington House, Dromore. More images from the Diary launch may be viewed at drewmcwilliams.com.

Dromara Primary School PTA Formal

Staff, parents and friends of Dromara Primary School held the Parent Teachers Association Annual Formal Dinner in the Slieve Croob Inn. What a great, fun-loving bunch of people they are to work with! There was no problem getting the Dromara folk to pose for the camera and at all times they were friendly and considerate. There was a fantastic pre-meal atmosphere and I'm sure they had a great night and raised considerable funds for the school. Images from the evening can be viewed at drewmcwilliams.com.

Christmas Presents

I spent some time in the Lurgan Studio recently with a family, cousins in this case. We had a bit of fun and produced some great images which show the warmth of their relationships to one another. The photoalbum and framed prints which are produced will make stunning Christmas presents for the whole family to enjoy.

Car dude

Stephen was home for the weekend and posed beside my car. The images was taken in full daylight with off-camera flash added for effect.

Family Portraits for Christmas

Family portraits sessions are very popular as Christmas presents. Studio tokens are available and many families like to book a session to give framed portraits as Christmas presents. You can view my family portrait portfolio.
